The imagination is powerful thing, and for me I’ve fallen in love with the idea of channeling different personas. For this shoot I wanted to channel the Anti version of Bad Gal RiRi, just because I feel like she’s always bad as she wants to be. I got my girl Amber Asaly to take the images, and it’s kind of funny because we’ve been trying to get together to collaborate for a very long time. In fact she happens to be one of the first people I met when signing to Kitten Galore, and she’s a kitten as well. When I met Amber I was drawn to her contagious energy and her kind spirit. She also happens to be a sniper when it comes to shooting in film, meaning she hits her target with zero misses. She had me feeling all kinds of flawless while we were shooting. See what I mean below.
You know a photoshoot isn’t legit without a glam squad. *Does three snaps in a circle* So you know I had to partner with my little sister Kahh Spence who braided my hair in under fifteen minutes to be exact. While he was braiding me up, Sabre O’neal the make-up artist was giving me a Brooklyn beatdown, and Christina Minasian who styled the shoot came thru with a rack of clothes that just tied the aesthetic of my whole vision together! In the midst of this all taking place i decided to indulge in some fried chicken that I drenched in honey maple syrup from Sweet Chick. Craft services anyone? Honey it was to die for!
We took some of these images on the rooftop of the Indigo Hotel, and I must say this is currently one of my favorite hotels in the city. Special thanks to them for allowing us to use the space. The rest of the images were taken throughout the Lower East Side.
I could ramble on and on about the shoot, and how easy it is to work with talented people, but I would rather you guys check out images and let me know what you think!
