People’s undertone usually fall under three categories. Cool, neutral, or warm.
- If you have warm undertones your skin tends to pull peachy, yellow or golden tones.
- If you have cool undertones your skin will pull pink, blue, or red.
- If you are somewhere in between (neutral) your skin will have a mixture of both tones.
There are a few other ways to determine your undertone. The silver or gold jewelry test, the vein test, or the skin tan test.
- If you use the silver or gold jewelry test to determine undertone then you will want to think about which pieces of accessories look best on you. If you think you look best in gold then you’re probably are warm. If you think silver flatters your tone much better than you are probably cool. Lastly, if you think you look good in either gold or silver than you are probably neutral.
- If you use the vein test to determine your undertone then you might want to find some natural lightening and really examine your wrist, specifically, your veins. If your veins are more green then you are warm. If your veins are blueish then you are cool. If you can’t tell and it looks like a mixture of the two then you are probably neutral.
- Do you tan easily and usually don’t burn? This is probably because you are warm. Do you burn very easily and tend to not tan? Then you are probably cool.
