2016 birthed a lot of great fashion moments, many of which were refined, elevated and modernized versions of trends past- mostly because that’s just how it goes. Although the 2000s have been the lovechild of movements from the 70s, 80s and 90s, I consider the 2000s (more specifically the last few years) to be the decade+ that has embraced the best parts of the major fashion eras while incorporating the best elements of recent times i.e. tech, production advancements and global accessibility to..well everything but mainly lesser-known brands. Fashion-wise, 2017 is already shaping up nicely so I’m hopeful it’ll be a good year (I repeat, fashion-wise).
