As an avid commuter I tend to find myself dozing off on the train listening to music, so I decided to give listening to podcasts a try. Turns out, they don’t get enough credit! I enjoy listening to stories and comedy, topics and people who will teach me a thing or two on my way to work.

Here are some that I recommend giving a chance if you’re interested but don’t know where to start with the hundreds of thousands of podcasts in the app store!   

Improper Etiquette 

Laura Stylez of Hot 97 & Married To The Mob CEO Leah McSweeney join forces for the Improper Etiquette podcast that promises to feature female industry professionals on their show. The ladies discuss love, sex, and relationships. They get down and dirty and will make you laugh… hard.

2 Dope Queens

Comedians Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams, along with their favorite comedians, for stories about sex, romance, race, hair journeys, living in New York, and Billy Joel. Plus a whole bunch of other s**t.

Risk!

RISK! is a weekly podcast and live storytelling show created and hosted by writer and actor Kevin Allison,  “Where people tell true stories they never thought they’d dare to share in public”. The stories are so entertaining, each week there’s a new topic of stories being told so you can pick and choose which topics you’re interested in. Some are relatable, funny, sad, but nevertheless interesting to listen to.
