The Harsh Reality
Have you ever looked into the mirror and been mortified by your lady stubble (mustache) ? The first time that I ever noticed my mustache I was sure that it was either dirt or hyperpigmentation. Women with darker skin tones sometimes get hyperpigmentation ( harmless condition in which patches of skin become darker in color than the normal surrounding skin) around their mouths because of excess production of melanin. This was the first time I considered mustache removal.
When I looked with a magnifying mirror, I noticed that it was definitely hyperpigmentation mixed with a nice little 5′ o clock shadow. I started to research how to combat of the hyperpigmentation afterwhich began applying weekly treatments. I used exfoliants, DIY lemon/witch hazel toner, and Vitamin E oil. Thankfully, this worked out really well. I’ve worked these tips along with some others in my mustache removal routine.
Removing the Stache’
Unfortunately, the stubble was still flexing on my upper lip. Waxing scares me and I try really hard not to go down that route. After a trip to the hair removal shelf at my local drug store I discovered Sally Hansen Brush-On Hair Removal for face. I absolutely love this stuff !After roughly three minutes and about $7 bucks spent I walked away with the smoothest upper lip ever. Usually, I don’t have to reapply for another 3 weeks or so (depends on your hair growth rate). If you are going to try this, make sure that you do a patch test first to see if you are allergic before applying to your face.
Natural Alternative
Some people like to opt for a more natural alternative. If this is the case, I would totally suggest the turmeric powder option. Besides being good for your complexion it has antibacterial effects. It also helps to curb hair growth. Tumeric powder can be found at your local supermarket.
1.Make a fluid paste with equal parts tumeric powder and water.
2. Apply to the part of your skin where you would like to removal the hair and wait 15 minutes.
3. Lastly, remove with warm water
