In honor of working hard to put BrittanySky.com on the map, we’re profiling the team who is behind the scenes – creating, brainstorming and developing the site you love!
First up, I turn the mic to myself (Alexa) and answered a few questions to get this ball rolling.

How did you get started writing for BrittanySky.com ?
I started writing for the site about 6 months ago. Brittany asked if I’d be interested in contributing to the site. I was a little hesitate at first because I’m not a writer but it is something I’ve always been passionate about. This was my opportunity to share my thoughts, so here we are 6 months later. I’ve had the satisfaction of watching the site grow and people actually enjoy what I’m writing.

What did you go to school for ?
Fashion Marketing. I went to LIM College for Merchandising and realized it was totally not for me. I switched to Marketing so that I could use my skills outside of fashion. I interned for a lovely fashion designer for a while which confirmed that fashion was not for me but I did love the start-up environment. From there I took a leap to something different and I interned at a music venue in Brooklyn for a semester. It opened my eyes to the entertainment industry which I knew I wanted to continue to be apart of. I hit the ground running after graduation with the incredible job I have now freelancing for two start ups that are directly related to entertainment, social media and creating awesome events.

What’s one thing that surprised you in your path up until now?
My path seems like it’s just begun. I graduated college exactly a year ago and my journey since has led me down a great path. I have creative freedom, my voice is heard and I’ve met some amazing people along the way. I think the most surprising part are all the connections I’ve made thus far. I’ve met some pretty cool cats including all of the awesome writers on this blog. I surprised myself, and I look forward to continue to.

What do you want to be when you grow up?
Happy. That has always been my answer since I was young. I don’t have an exact answer or job title but I think following your gut and sticking to your beliefs will take you places unexpected. So far, following this little mantra of mine has taken me places I never imagined I would go.

Tell me something weird about you.
I’m sure I have a lot of weird quirks but something off the top of my head, I can’t eat Oreos without dipping them in peanut butter. Something I picked up from my good pal Lindsey Lohan in the classic movie, Parent Trap.
